Preserving books and graphics for the future

Looking at the long history of Schmedt, of the world's largest suppliers or bookbinding machines and materials, the new section "Restoration supplies" is a logical step in the development of the company. By extending our range by products out of the "Preservation and restoration of books and graphics", we would like to meet the diversified requirements of those who serve, preserve and impart our cultural heritage. A wide range of consumables for curators, collectors, conservators, restorators, collection managers and exhibition designers is being created. The practice-orientated structure will assist not only young, but also experienced specialists in the product choice. Schmedt takes into account the European and East-Asian tradition of preserving cultural heritage and focusses on quality when choosing products for their range. Right from the beginning, the range is based on a museum-appropriate division of the individual fields of activity, such as examination, preventive measures, conservation, restoration, handling, storage and the presentation of artwork. The advice and support of an academically skilled restorator and post-doctoral art historian with 40 years of work experience guarantees permanent quality and extension of the range.
